How it works
Installed by a registered electrician (Certificate of Compliance required) or qualified plumber, depending on installation scope. Typical installation time: 30–60 minutes. No drain-down required. Compatible with all standard electric storage geysers, all brands and sizes..
Continuous real-time measurement of the anode, tracks the sacrificial reaction rate. The platform samples the device and classifies its health status — Satisfactory, Warning, or Critical — against defined thresholds.
When the device enters Warning or Critical status, automatic email notifications are sent to nominated insurer contacts, enabling proactive maintenance scheduling before a burst event occurs.
GeyserGuard's zero-point-crossing switching relay takes over from the thermostat, eliminating switching-induced wear. The thermostat continues to sense temperature and send switching instructions — only the physical switching transfers to GeyserGuard.

GeyserGuard classifies anode condition against three defined health bands, calibrated against steady-state anode behaviour rather than instantaneous readings. This minimises nuisance alerts and ensures the right level of urgency is applied to every notification.

At portfolio scale, a GeyserGuard fleet represents substantial controllable load. At 500,000 fitted units averaging 3 kW per element, that is 1,500 MW of dispatchable load — enough to eliminate Stage 1 to Stage 2 load shedding.
This demand-response capability is dormant by default in every GeyserGuard unit and activated only at the explicit election of the insurer partner — never by a third party without consent.
